    • Supplemental Services: Limited financial assistance for items like assistive devices or home modifications.

    • Counseling and Support Groups: Access to counseling, support groups, and caregiver training to help manage the emotional and practical challenges of caregiving.

  • Seniors in Illinois Fall Prevention Program: Provides resources and workshops to prevent falls, a common concern for many caregivers.

Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs)

Illinois is divided into 13 Planning and Service Areas, each served by an AAA. These agencies are local hubs that implement the IFCSP and provide services tailored to the specific needs of their region. They are often the most direct and helpful resource for local services.

  • Services typically include: Case management, information and referral services, home-delivered meals, and transportation assistance.

  • To find your local AAA: You can use the IDoA website or call the statewide Senior HelpLine.
